Clare County Enterprise Board
was one of 35 Enterprise Boards established by the Government in 1993 with
the principal aim being the promotion and development of the small and
medium enterprise sector of the county.
Its fundamental objective is one of ensuring that the various measures
available are sufficient to create a climate lending to the creation of new
jobs, to the maintenance of sustainable jobs and to the prioritisation of
support. To date Clare Co. Enterprise Board has approved a total of 608
projects representing a grant commitment of €5.4 million and has assisted in
the creation of 1,500 full-time jobs.
The Board is now rightly recognised as a leader in the provision of business
advice, counselling, mentoring, business skills and management development
programmes having provided training to over 4,500 people in the small
business sector. The Board under the new Operational Programme 2000-2006
ensures to provide a quality service for up-skilling, meeting I.T.
requirements, provision of enhanced training and developing strategies to
assist the marginalised and socially excluded.
County & City Enterprise Boards
are funded by the Irish Government and part-financed by the European Union under the National Development Plan 2007 - 2013.
